Barksdale House Inn, Charleston

Excellent and very friendly staff,...

Liked: The inn was beautiful, historic, very clean and great location to walk the city to see the sights.
Disliked: Nothing, it was great.

A pleasant stay with caveats,...

Liked: The breakfast was excellent and almost too filling. I got into a grits-for-breakfast routine here. There was always fresh fruit, little pastries, and sodas and juice to take away. Every one of staff was helpful, and pleasant to chat with. The location half way between King St. and Meeting St. was very good. The walk to harbor was about 15 minutes. We definitely recommend wandering up King to see hipper bars, restaurants and hotels, and have BBQ at Rodney Scott
Disliked: The room looked out onto a very beat up parking lot on one side and the solid wall of the condo building next door. I suspect a room on the second floor, which I thought we requested, would have been nicer. The noise of exterior AC units was constant, but to be expected in this city.

lovely stay in downtown Charleston

Liked: The inn is lovely and there is an a la carte breakfast (all you can eat) and snacks are set out throughout the day, with a special "tea time" that includes tea sandwiches and a glass of wine. The staff was super cheerful and helpful!
Disliked: The walls are very thin, and when people pass by the room it is very loud.

Excellent Bed and Breakfast highly...

Liked: The breakfast was very nice. Made to order. The afternoon refreshments from 2-4 pm included a glass of wine. The staff were friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. Parking on property. The grounds were welcoming.
Disliked: They need a back porch/ garden outdoor light. It was very dark coming in at night in the back.

Liked: The breakfast included was great, it was from 7:30-10am everyday and was a great start to our day. The location was amazing - walking distance to everywhere on king st, the french quarter, etc. The room was quaint and charming. Enjoyed our stay!

Liked: The hospitality and warm welcome extended by the staff at the Barksdale House was outstanding. The full breakfast exceeded expectations!There were many choices available and they accommodated my need for gluten free options.
Disliked: We loved our room, which was very spacious. But the mattress, while comfortable enough, didn’t seem of the same quality as the other amenities.
