Liked: The room was clean and comfy; the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Loved the coffee in the hall outside our room in the carriage house, and the courtyard with the fountain was so beautiful! We will definitely stay again!!

Liked: Nice B&B in the heart of the city. Staff is very engaged and friendly. Great breakfast. The room looked like an ancient antique but was fully functional at the same time.

Very good

Liked: The breakfast was very good. Overall the stay was very pleasant and the room was quaint. We stayed in room 6 which was on the second floor towards the front of the house. The inn is far enough away from King st. that even on a Saturday the noise really didn't spill over, but still close enough that you could pop onto the main drag very easily.

Liked: This is a historic property which I loved! Decorated beautifully with made to order breakfasts, & wonderful room amenities. Truly a gem right off the main shopping street & in the historic district. However, it is the staff that made the stay truly exceptional! So warm & responsive. Very Affordable parking for this area too!
Disliked: NOT a complaint at all, just a heads up for other visitors- t's an older property- so don't expect modern plumbing or an elevator

We selected Barksdale for its...

Liked: Great location, staff were helpful, friendly. Nice breakfast.
Disliked: The property is 200+ years old so we expected it would reflect its age but the room we were in could use some refurbishing. Plaster work, paint maybe a good cleaning. Even more so with bath. The room was comfortable and everything worked. Sounds reverberate throughout the house, it’s part of the charm but at night if you are affected by hearing other visitors walk around or leave and enter the property it may be bothersome.
