Disliked: I am raising awareness to others and a formal complaint against your hotel for the following reasons:I booked the Bannatyne Hotel and Spa in Hastings as my partner needed a special night away. I could have booked a hotel on the sea front for half the price. But we specifically wanted a spa weekend so I booked your hotel. On arrival, to our dismay we found the gym next to your property was the spa. The gym is not a spa. And due to the 'spa' facilities not being exclusive to the hotel guests, as one would think due to your branding, there is conflict between hotel guests and the local population. We were charged a fee to use facilities that were incredibly busy, noisy and anything but relaxing- which you would expect from a spa. My partner gave up and went back to the hotel where she encountered another guest complaint about not being able to use the spa due to how busy it was. She and her husband had decided to cancel and go home. Saskia was excellent and endeavoured to help us, which we appreciate. To reiterate, my complaint is that your branding is misleading and incorrect. If it had been clear that the spa was not part of the hotel or exclusive we would not have booked. I would like this email to be sent to the owner Duncan. Can you tell me how I give a review to make sure others are aware too. Yours regrettably

Lovely hotel and great Christmas...

Liked: Beautiful location, lovely hotel. Friendly staff, good food and great ambience.
Disliked: The spa is part of a large gym next door/a short walk from the hotel. Kids only allowed in for swim at specific times and the time we went was packed.

Liked: I came down for the funeral of my mother and we use your facilities to supply some of our guests with refreshments. Your staff and your catering was really good. The room I stayed in was fair, but I would say it was a little tired. The standard and the finishes in the room well once again okay or fair, but being in the building industry I wouldn't say the finish was great. The best thing about your hotel was the staff they were absolutely excellent so hence the scores I've given
Disliked: I've expressed most of what I thought in the above box, but the fact that the decor was tired did not or would not put me off in coming to your hotel. I think I was little bit surprised that is there was no telephone intercom service in my room, I've never been to a hotel room where they've never had a telephone.
