Disappointing atmosphere at present price...

Liked: interior decor and cleanliness
Disliked: one staff member on reception non welcoming, other was fantastic in comparison.most staff had good intentions but no evidence of good hotel management ... they lacked direction.atmospheric music in bar was more to suit staff and was not conducive to a peaceful evening.bar area was one of those awful television clad areas which was disturbing rather than peaceful.not much in the way of choice for healthy food options on restaurant and bar menu ....given that one would expect health consciousness in Spa HotelSuperfood salad was only available as a vegetarian option so nothing for the health conscious meat eaterlack of fish options except for obvious Bass that everyone gets everywheresome menu options uncatered for two nights in a row (same missing each night) further reducing choiceconservatory seating open at night when cold and dark but not ipen in the day or at breakfast when light and views available and extremely pleasant if we had been given access. yet another disappointment as pictures of the conservatory influenced our choice to book but then no access given when most wanted ...Ur at breakfast !!!The Spa area itself had great swimming pool but tiny little sauna which was forever over crowded, makes UK look like Germany's very poor cousin.Spa eating area was no better than municipal leisure centre.nowhere to relax in a bath robe after a sauna ... seemed pointless for people to be wearing bath robes as no easy relaxing break out areas. Also Spa separate from hotel and a fair walk away and so this lack of space to relax after sauna or swim even more pronounced as cannot bath robe it back to ones own room or indeed anywhere except to treatment rooms if you want nails done or something wacky like that ...considering hotel was 4 star and with a Spa label it disappointed....

Not worth the money

Liked: The room was ok,
Disliked: The windows were rattling due to high wilds, the lights in the bathroom would turn on randomly, in the restaurant waited nearly an hour for the food when it turned up the mushroom was bigger than the steak I ordered my wife had the sausage and mash potato with what could be described as onion gravy, as for breakfast my wife had here plates taken away before she'd finished eating all of her food, for what I'd paid I wouldn't say this was a 4 star hotel as I've stayed in better 3 star hotels.

Brilliant stay

Liked: The spa was beautiful.We had a deluxe room and that was lovely, the beds and pillows not so comfy but the room was amazing, great food in the restaurant, breakfast was lovely.
Disliked: Beds not comfy, pillows not the best, spa could do with a freshen up, paint on walls is mouldy etc.
