Passable

Liked: The hotel accomodation and breakfasts were acceptable. Rooms were clean and functional. Staff were pleasant but not very attentive. Coffee and tea making facilities were basic but acceptable.
Disliked: We had a meal booked for a group of 11 family members to celebrate a recent marriage proposal and engagement. Meal delivery was slow and we only found out afterwards one of the chefs had left due to illness and they were short staffed. Had they communicated this we would have been accepting of the situation but they didn't! We had to leave without any dessert course because we ran out of time. A special occasion was undermined by this hotel's failings leaving us ultimately disapointed.

Very Disappointed with lack of...

Liked: The location was ideal.Bed was comfy, not that we got much sleep
Disliked: There was a wedding reception in full flow. We were not advised there was a wedding reception taking place.Arrived at our agreed earliest check in to be told room was ready. Upon reaching the room the cleaner was only half way through cleaning. We dropped our luggage off and went to get a drink while the room was being cleaned. We went to a quiet bar area because of the wedding guests using the main bar. Nobody came to serve us so we purchased our drinks from the main bar.Staff were unhelpful and their language when speaking to each other was disgusting. We decided to eat out given the hotel had been taken over by the wedding party. On our return we again attempted to use the quiet bar area but the catering staff were in and out with food for the wedding and the bar was unmanned. We used the main bar area which was extremely busy although we did manage to get seats. Upon retiring to our room at around 2100 we discovered we were immediately above the wedding reception. As you can imagine we had to put up with the very loud disco until 12am and then drunken guests shouting and swearing outside our window until around 1am as well as the noise of wedding guests returning to their rooms. The hotel showed a complete disregard for guests other than the wedding reception, both in the room allocation and use of bar facilities. If we had been told there was a wedding taking place we would have cancelled and booked elsewhere. The room whilst spacious was very dusty on both light fittings and general surfaces. The landing areas to the rooms was dirty and several cleaning rooms where left wide open with items of room service on display, rubbish bags, and general dumping of furniture, dust sheets etc.

Clean tidy comfortable hotel with...

Liked: Great location for visiting family in the village at Christmas. Very large comfortable room with lots of little extras, fruit juice, crisps, fruit etc. excellent tea/coffee station. Large bathroom with underfloor heating.
Disliked: Room 2, a lovely room, but on top of already climbing a fair few steps to get to room, on opening room door , you are presented with another 16 stairs to get into room. When you are a pensioner with a large very heavy suitcase not ideal. No warning from hotel re the climb. Then lots of niggly things. Drawers kept opening on their own, mould in shower, top missing of hot water tap, noisy air extraction unit just outside window. Car park in a bit of a wet muddy mess. Corridor doors could have signs on to help you find your way in and out.
