Liked: Beautifully restored and well appointed property. Good location to walk to historic downtown and free parking pass! David is an excellent host and really helped us each day plan our activities so that we think we saw the best of the area in our three night stay. Self service breakfast buffet was perfect for us - fresh bananas each day were appreciated as we’ve been missing them on our travels.

Perfect location and quiet comfort...
Liked: The Balmoral house is perfectly located for easy walking distance to all attractions and activities in St. John's. It is about a 2-3 minute walk to "The Rooms" museum! The room was very clean and quiet with a comfortable bed, and we slept very well. The air conditioning during the summer heat wave was a huge plus. The owner, David, is very kind and hospitable, as well as his employee, Cherry, who was very sweet! The decor is classic Victorian and very pretty. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Disliked: Breakfast is quite simple and informal, so it feels a bit more like a guest house than a classic B&B, but this didn't bother us. It gave us the flexibility to eat breakfast when we wanted rather than on a schedule. The Postmaster's Bakery is also right around the corner for excellent food, coffee, and pastries when we needed to eat more. Bathroom is very small, but not a problem for us. I didn't care for the single ply, extra thin toilet paper in the bathroom as some other visitors shared. Everything else was wonderful.
