Nice but very pricey and...

Liked: It’s in a lovely location and we’ve stayed here lots previously but it really isn’t good value for money!
Disliked: Wd asked about a potential room upgrade and was advised that it would cost more for the upgrade than the actual cost of the room we had originally reserved!

Fabulous hotel

Liked: Staff went above and beyond. Food was excellent, room spacious and warm. Close enough to the town centre for a short taxi ride.
Disliked: Nothing

Great place, quite noisy during...

Liked: We came here for a restful weekend to recoup after a stressful year. Its a beautiful location. Lovely clean room with a great bath and shower. Staff were very attentive at breakfast/dinner/room service. The food was yummy as well. We didn't get the opportunity to eat at Cloisters, but the Hotels own restaurant is lovely.
Disliked: I'm not sure if it was the cleaners or guests in a room next to us but from about 7am on Saturday morning there were doors banging really loudly til about 2pm. It woke me up and kept going. I figured out what the noise was. The doors were open, but with lock on so that when they automatically went to close it wouldn't fully close, but this made a very loud banging noise every time it hit the door frame. I tried to have a bit of a rest in the late morning/early afternoon but the cleaners weren't quiet despite our little sign on the door saying we were resting. One staff member took a phone call right outside our door and we heard the entirety of the conversation. Not really a problem but when you're trying to rest it was a bit off-putting. (We knew she was a cleaner because she was explaining to the person on the other end how many rooms she had left to clean).Other than the noise being a bit much when we were trying to sleep... it was lovely.

Nice hotel let down by...

Liked: Good location, lovely room and great breakfast
Disliked: Taken for a mug by the lady serving in the bar. Had a glass of rose wine on Friday which wasn’t brilliant so asked if they had a different wine on Saturday. It tasted a lot better but when I got the bill it was £19 for a glass!!!!
