Liked: Location, never been to York before and my god it was beautiful.
Disliked: Room was small. I’m 6.2ft with a gut. I couldn’t get into the shower as the doors were too small, couldn’t sit on the toilet as both arms where against the shower screen and wall. Old TVs, smart TVs are so cheap now and could make a room so much more comfortable. You have to pay £10 a night parking. When I checked it, I was told I had to pay a £1 security fee, so I paid. On the last night, £19 automatically came out of my account, this was clearly the parking payment. Why not just tell me this was going to happen. Breakfast doesn’t start until 8am, most other hotels start at 7am as working people start work at 8am. For the £160 it cost to stay. I could have got ALOT better elsewhere.

Welcoming B&B with cosy rooms...

Liked: Large, cosy room, great size for two people. Delicious breakfast with range of options. Great service and friendly staff. About 15 mins out of the town centre but worth the walk!
Disliked: A little walk from the hotel to the town centre. There is a wait for food at breakfast if you come down after 8.30/9am.

A comfortable stay; reasonably priced;...

Liked: Room was very clean, bed was comfortable. Whole building was clean and attractively decorated.
Disliked: The Yorkshire breakfast did not include black pudding. Its inclusion or not is a good indicator of how good a hotel is. The marmalade was cheap and dreadful. It would have been worth it to spend a little m,ore on something like Tiptree.
