Liked: The hosts were extremely welcoming. We loved the free guided tour of the property out to the beach on their amphibious vehicle. We also had a nice conversation with the host over the free canape with drinks before dinner. We enjoyed venison, fish & chips and whitebait for dinner. We like the garden and ocean view from our room, soft towels, and a comfortable bed.

Liked: Upon arrival Elizabeth said she could include us for dinner that night - it was excellent! The facilities are impeccable and the good nature of the hosts seemed to rub off on all the guests. Selwyn treated us to a beach spin in Radar his amphibious ATV. Great fun! And the lodge is appropriately named - we enjoyed a beautiful sunset over the Tasman Sea.

Liked: This is a beach front property. Sleep with the sounds of the waves. Elizabeth and Selwyn were wonderful hosts. Left having made new friends. The way the property is set up is fabulous. Will leave future guests to discover Awatuna Sunset Lodge. We loved our stay here!

2 days overlooking the shore...

Liked: Beautiful secluded beach view location with easy access to hokitika and greymouth. Great meals served on site. Elizabeth and Selwyn are gracious hosts.
Disliked: Nothing —- it was perfect for our needs

Liked: It was an exceptional experience to stay one night in the lodge with a stunning view. The owners made everything to make the guests feel comfortable and welcoming, just like staying with friends. The complimentary sundowner and the beach ride on the amphibious car made our stay definitely one of the highlights of our 4-week trip in NZ.
