Beautiful scenery but we stayed...

Liked: We did not like it as it was not the accomodations that we thought we were getting according to Tripadvisor
Disliked: It was dirty and full of mold and mildew, spiders and spider webs. The blinds were broken and had to be held down with a coat hanger otherwise they flew to the top of the window. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. There was a bad smell. The toilet wouldn't flush. The windows were non-egress, which is against the building code, so, in case of a fire we would've died. There was no working lightbulb on the outdoor wall by the stairway to the property, making it difficult and dangerous to access the property. The furniture was broken, scratched, stained and dated. The miniscule coffee maker leaked. There was no tea kettle. The mini-microwave was dirty. The clothes dryer had a rusted drum and was full of lint. The oven in the stove was covered in sticky grease. The top of the stove burners were stained and dirty. The bath mat was so old its fibers were crispy. The kitchen table was badly in need of a staining. None of the chairs matched and the fabric on the chairs had multiple pulls made by a cat, by the looks of it. The lock on the bathroom door was a badly carved big hole in the door frame. It was a very, very disappointing experience of which many photos were taken. Digusting, but equally or more disgusting was the astronomical price we paid for this place!! Never going to this place again and wondering just how trustworthy and accurate TripAdvisor is, moving forward.

Try the Yurt!

Liked: This was a very busy touristic period. The person attending accommodation was somewhat overwhelmed with unexpected arrivals, demands and cancellations. But she tried her outmost to meet people's expectations. Facilities were somewhat dated but clean. Restaurant and bar on site made it somewhat lively. The option of the Yurt was brilliant. The experience of sleeping al fresco with panoramic roof during Perseid meteor showers was second to none.
Disliked: Equipment, canoe and paddles, was somewhat run down and could benefit from an upgrade.

Noisy street, minimally equipped kitchen,...

Liked: Location allows to walk to main wharf with its parks and activities, including a fun mini-putt and a beautiful park for kids. Several places to eat around. Washing machine and dryer in both apartments we rented.
Disliked: A lot of spiders in the 'balcony' apartment, dishes and cutlery left dirty in drawers and cupboards, minimally equipped kitchen with only a few spoons, no salad bowl, no wine glasses. No A/C in 'green apartment' and only one good fan although 2 bedrooms, which was very noisy as we had to leave windows open as too hot otherwise. High traffic, noisy street with many trucks driving by.

Only for sleeping! Nothing else

Liked: The bed was comfortable. Other than that, the place we stayed was the garage, under a complete construction site. My daughter and I tried to find the entrance, in fact garage door, in darkness in a construction site. The view in the booking.com was completely different, the terrasse was being constructed, so no way we could sit in a terrasse where there were materials for cement all over. I had to ask the construction guys to move their cars to be able to carry our suitcases, and reach our car. Basically, we went in, slept, woke up and left immediately. We also took the duvet out, not looked clean at all. Overpriced and I thought we arrived in a different place as the photos in booking.com is completely different. That place should not have been available for renting.
Disliked: Nothing

Good

Liked: Good sized family room with kitchenette. Never met hosts but they had been very accommodating online to assist with late check in.
Disliked: Room was superficially clean but very dusty. Facilities were limited e.g.no bowls in kitchen. Bathroom was disappointing, small and had much wear e.g. the toilet was rickety and moved from wall. As a solo traveller, I felt slightly uncomfortable and unsafe. I did not have any specific problems with this and may be cause I arrived late so didn't meet the host.
