Great location, very basic accommodation.

Liked: Location was great. Bed was comfortable.
Disliked: Room was tiny and quite run down. Needs a refurb. Defo feels like an old motel. Tiny bathroom, no room to even put my toiletries bag down. Water was too hot or too cold, couldn’t get a balance. There are no frills here, very basic, it is what it is.

Comfortable and welcoming

Liked: Great location, friendly staff, comfortable bed, nice hot shower and organic soaps/shampoos, lovely fluffy towels.
Disliked: A kettle for tea and coffee would have been nice.

Welcoming retro vibe-right in the...

Liked: What did we like? Everything! From the time we checked in and were upgraded to a King room, everyone working at the hotel was so welcoming, friendly, and happy. That makes a big difference! The retro vibe and welcome to all makes you feel good. Location on South Congress convenient to everything- music, food, dessert, walking- and parking is FREE. Coffee in the lobby was exceptional. The coupons for coffee drinks at Jos were a nice touch too. Will definitely stay here if in Austin in future.
Disliked: that we had to leave....also, that it was too cold to use the pool
