One of the cleanest hostels...
Liked: All the facilities and the room are spotless. The kitchen is fully equipped and the staff is really nice.
Disliked: It was really loud in dorms and quite hard to rest. I would recommend taking a single room if you're not in a party mood.

Communal, casual, cozy and clean.
Liked: Very cozy atmosphere. I like hostels because guests tend to be more friendly and helpful.

Hostel Montreal
Liked: Firm clean mattress and all night reception. Nice set up, quiet sleep, free ear plugs, chill/gentle reception staff, offer breakfast and a subway nearby.
Disliked: Lobby smelled like marijuana smoke at night, although it's listed as a smoke free lodging on booking.com. I thought I paid more for a single bed room and got bunk beds instead, maybe my mistake and it was fine; breakfast was cold: artisan bread, cereal/apples/oranges, no juice/light coffee. The coffee and milks were out so I asked for help and received attitude from a young lady working behind the bar stocking things (0 on customer service in the breakfast area). She did stock items after I insisted and she realized that items were indeed out. It might have been a language issue. This was at 9am-ish. You have to go into the kitchen to get your own plates/cup/silver, there was no sign so that took awhile to figure out with a line to wash your dishes afterwards. It did Not seem tables were being wiped down. It was a calm and pleasant atmosphere despite the amount of people trying to toast their bread in the one toaster in the center,😅The subway had a lot for f homeless men in the morning, one was yelling & pacing. I hope these people get help. It was sad to see so many mentally ill and homeless throughout Montreal in the freezing cold. I hope locals help them.
