Liked: We enjoyed the view of the ocean from our selected room. The position of the Hotel.
Disliked: The refrigerators should be updated. Lighting in bathroom not nice.

Liked: So close to beach. DVDs available to use. View from balcony very nice even from side of building.
Disliked: No pool or jacuzzi. Tv difficult to use and to figure out coffee maker. Shower spray not much pressure.

If you like a retro...

Liked: This is an iconic Waikiki hotel in a central location, right across from a great swimming beach and a two minute walk to the Duke statue. Make sure to check out one of the Sunrise Shack locations nearby if you are looking for a healthy snack or pick me up.I enjoyed reading about the founders story, a female Chinese immigrant who moved to Oahu when she was 12 and later went on to property early on, including this location.
Disliked: The hotel is a little dated which did not bother me too much, it would have been worth it to be up a little higher (we were on the second floor) for the views. There was a mentally deranged person in a nearby room shouting in the morning, not sure that can be blamed on the hotel but it did go on for a few hours.

Nice hotel, not the vibe...

Liked: The hotel is located right in front of Waikiki Beach and on the main strip. The price was really good and you are located within walking distance from a ton of stores and restaurants. If you get ocean side the balcony view is amazing and the room/hotel were very clean. The internet was really good and we were able to stream movies flawlessly.
Disliked: The rooms are a little small, the bathroom and shower were even smaller, we had a hard time with 3 large suitcases fully of clothing. It was noisy at night since the cars on the street can be heard in the room. The parking was very limited and $50 dollars a night, and the crowds of people on the street made it difficult to enter the parking garage. The thing that caught us off guard was the TVs in the room don't have any channels, you have to stream from your phone or us the DVD (movies available on the first floor).

Disappointing

Liked: The location and the view were great.
Disliked: The hotel doors are very loud if you have neighbors who in/out lot you can't sleep normally because it is very noisy, very small rooms and bedsheets smell bad.
