Liked: All staff were super friendly, the building had character, lovely Xmas decks, fab breakfast with a massive variety to choose from, beds were comfy, fantastic products to use during stay, great basic gym, could use the facilities before and after check out which was brilliant service.
Disliked: The pool could have been warmer, staff should have asked if distance to room is an issue.

Brilliant ideas for festive fun...

Liked: Great for kids at Christmas. We were given a bag with Christmas puzzles and games, a Christmas hat and a letter to write to Father Christmas. There was a special post box for children to put it in. Lovely idea and a HUGE Christmas tree in the reception area. My 7 year old was completely entranced by the magic. Such fun! The swimming pool was great too. Good that the hotel allow children in the pool 9am - 12 and 3 - 6pm. They had noodles to play with. A nice warm changing area too.

Liked: It’s charm and buildings plus parking is nice and close to the building
Disliked: Furniture is a bit outdated and cheap looking . The room was cold even though heating was on , Hallways were too hot

Relaxing

Liked: Hotel was not busy. Lovely rural location, attentive staff, good breakfast. Great pool and spa. We hired bikes from the hotel and enjoyed the forest area
Disliked: Bedside lights only operated from one side of the bed. This prevented one light being switched on without disturbing my spouse

Exceptional

Liked: The hotel is very clean and has a lot of history. The grounds are amazing.
