Wouldn’t stay again

Liked: Beautiful food and staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.
Disliked: Mattress was so uncomfortable! Could feel springs and my partner and I were rolling in the middle. Floor boards were noisy and wallpaper peeling off walls. No usb sockets for charging considering we’re are now in 2024!!! Rooms need a complete revamp!!!

A cheap stay for one...

Liked: The staff were extremely helpful, polite and friendly. They made sure we had everything we needed and were very attentive. The breakfast was really good, the service excellent and the toast kept on coming! The location of the hotel was ideal for our needs and the rooms were clean.
Disliked: The hotel is in need of a refurbishment as it’s old and tired looking. The bed was not the most comfortable and there was a noisy aircon vent just below our window (we shut the window to cut down the noise). Floors in the bedroom and the corridor outside our room were very creaky so this disturbed us when people walked by (and we were worried about disturbing others as we moved about our room in the night).

Comfortable stop-over for a couple...

Liked: Comfy room, hotel decor looking a bit tired, external appearance could do with attention. Staff very helpful. The Amelia Earhart connection was interesting.
Disliked: Exterior needs a facelift, looked better on the booking photos!

It is a low cost...

Liked: It was really close to Ashburnham Golf Club, where we had come to play. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Cooked breakfast was good, but would have liked some fruit and pastries.
Disliked: The stair carpet was pale and looked dirty. The rooms were a bit shabby and tired looking, but this is reflected in the price.

A great value break with...

Liked: The staff members were particularly friendly and helpful. For example, I needed an extension cable to allow me to run my CPAP machine. It was sorted out in no time. We took advantage of the meal offer that evening, which represented excellent value and the quality of the steaks was superb!! I’ve paid a lot more, for much more inferior products and cooking.
Disliked: I would have appreciated a lift to get to the bedrooms, mainly on arrival and when checking out (carrying bags etc).
