Comfortable stay at the Ashburnham.

Liked: Location great for the reason I was travelling. Good quality and reasonably priced food options. Very comfortable room.
Disliked: Nothing.

Fab staff but substandard bedroom...

Liked: Nice bar and restaurant area. Staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful.
Disliked: Room was not cleaned to a high standard and I had to ask for it to be hoovered and the bathroom cleaned as there was dirt and hair on the floor. Bedrooms need a complete refurbishment. The room had a damp / mould problem. It smelt damp, there was mould in the corner of the bedroom and the wallpaper was bubbling off the wall and was discoloured because of the damp. The bathroom is very old and tired. Flooring in bathroom had chunks missing out of it and the toilet seat is old, damaged and needs changing. Decorative cushion on bed damaged.

Use if a convenient location...

Liked: Convenient location as we were are going a wake at the hotel the next day.The price per room was very reasonable, the breakfast was acceptable for an additional £10 so £79 in totalThe room was clean
Disliked: The rooms were not of a 3 star in my opinion. I was in a 4 star the week before which was night and day different. That was luxurious, so this hotel was a stark contrast. The 4 star was less than £100 per day, this was £79. The rooms here are very dated and tired. The shared areas the same. We arrived after a 4 hour journey on a Sunday afternoon and could not get anything to eat. The pub next door didn’t serve after 4pm either. So plan for other food if you’re there on a Sunday.
