A hotel that gives comfort...

Liked: Absolutely stunning property. The breakfast room is amazingly beautiful.
Disliked: Maybe the breakfast room is organized in a way that you have to wait in line. Other than that it was such a great place.

Somewhat overpriced hotel with service...

Liked: Beautiful, historic building in the heart of Prague old city. Nice, clean rooms in a good state, the hotel is rather clean and hygienic. Facilities worked fine too, gym was not too large but it was not too busy either (can host 3 guests conveniently), workout equipment are just enough. There is a sauna, but with rather limited visiting times. We received some little gift every day on our pillows (tiny chocolate bar) which - one hand - can be seen as a nice gesture, on the other hand it was not really a high quality sweet, so we opted out every time, jointly contributing with the hotel to unnecessary waste and increased environmental footprint. As we stayed over during Christmas, one day we found a little bag of xmas gift in our room, which - again - could be seen as a nice gesture. However, it included little plastic bottles of the same shampoo, lotion, etc that one could find in the bathroom. Obviously, these were some promotional products the hotel received from its suppliers for free. I personally would have opted out (if being asked beforehand), some gifts are just better not to give, not to mention the environmental impact of this too.
Disliked: We visited in December, which is usually a cold, winter month, and booked a higher category room. We have been feeling cold in the room from the beginning, after two days we realized that the thermostat did not do much justice either, so we called hotel staff. Eventually a mechanic came with some tool and essentially had to open the heaters, after which all was good. This means that the hotel a) either left those heaters close to save money (even on guests paying for premium rooms), or did not care to check before the winter, or during the winter whether they were actually heating. Neither of those possibilities are good, just create a negative customer experience.Built in hair drier in the bathroom kept overheating, effectively switching off after less than one minute. It seems, not only for us, as reception immediately offered a standalone hair drier to send to our room before I could even finish what my problem was.Breakfast seemed to be a special experience based on ratings I have seen before booking the room. I definitely would not say it was a disappointment, as the quality of ingredients was rather high, everything was fresh, coffee was fine, there were lactose free alternatives available too, clean and tidy surfaces all over the restaurant. Unfortunately, - for this price level - one would except a bit more variety though, the selection quickly became boring after the 3rd day.We asked help from both concierges we met during our stay. The male was very helpful and treated us with patience, the female - on the other hand - had a serious attitude issue and acted like a ticket seller in a 2nd grade theatre. At one point I had to remind her that we were the guests and she was the concierge, after which she somewhat adjusted her behaviour.Asked for takeway breakfast for our check-out, which was given to us in paper bags with no handle to carry them. Not too smart to give this to people whose hands are already full of suitcases, bags, running for their train

Perfect, worth the extra money.

Liked: Stayed here for a week during christmas and when I was planning to propose to my girlfriend. (She said yes) The breakfast was incredible, one of the few hotel breakfasts I would go out my way to return to. The hotel staff were all incredibly friendly, the location was perfect and the style of the property is so fun and different.Thank you to the hotel staff for making our stay so perfect.

A beautiful hotel, outstanding architecture...

Liked: The hotel has been sympathetically restored. Its public areas like the entrance foyer, reception, and the dining room, are outstanding. The dining room is magnificent and a tourist attraction in its own right. It serves an excellent breakfast and has friendly and helpful staff. The room was filled with light ( and this was winter) and very spacious. The location was within easy walking distance of Prague's most visited tourist sites and there were numerous restaurants close to the hotel.
Disliked: Everything about the hotel was great. The only very minor negative comment I would make is don't be put off by the ordinary exterior of the hotel. Once inside, it is a great experience.
