Short Pasadena weekend

Liked: Close to the Huntington Gardens
Disliked: We were quite disappointed by breakfast usually a highlight in a B&B. It was very ordinary, white English muffins, plain eggs or waffles. No real milk or juice. Yes the creamer cups and little jelly containers ( 1 flavor only) were in pretty bowls but nothing that we could not have had in an IHop! Arrival and departure was self serve. We had no contact with the owner other than by phone. Just not a very inviting, personnel atmosphere.

Liked: This was one of the nicest and beautiful hotels I have ever experienced. Very very nicely equiped. Small hotel, not overcrowded. Very personal and cozy style. Absolutley clean and very kind team.
Disliked: Nothing to mention.

Lumpy soft bed and customer...

Liked: Nothing. We left the room upon entering and found a lumpy soft bed
Disliked: The owner operator seemed bothered we rang the doorbell late afternoon 'didn't you get the email with the code?', pointed to a table in a foyer where our keys were, pointed up the stairs and disappeared behind a door stating 'employees only'. We came down and called the numbers on the door and screen and messaged through booking even though we could hear her talking in that adjacent 'employees only' room. It took the 3rd call to a service for her to come out and then she offered to switch out mattresses or offer another room. Between the bed, and lousy customer service and attitude (when I pointed this out she responded she had opened the door for us), I no longer wanted to stay here. I asked for a refund and she said yes if I went through messaging booking - 3 weeks later and I'm still waiting for a response even though we rebooked on booking with another place, and no refund.

The Arroyo Vista Inn was...

Liked: The location was excellent as my son & his wife live only minutes away. Unfortunately we never got to eat at this lovely B&B but it smelled delicious! The evening wine selection was a nice bonus at the end of the day. Janice is a lovely host and is non-stop working to update this special place. While sitting out on our wonderful balcony in Room #1, she appeared with brand new outdoor cushions! Cookies and drinks are available for purchase on an honor system. The parking worked out fine and we were happy to see how popular the inn is on the weekend. I was referred to the Arroyo Vista Inn by family members who stayed a couple of nights about 2 years ago.
Disliked: The bathroom was very hot but...this I expect to be very unusual considering the wild week of heat we experienced.

Will definitely be back -...

Liked: Beautiful place! Love the huge porch; loved my very big room with access to the upstairs porch. The family that runs it is incredibly nice. Would definitely stay there again.

Wonderfully scenic and romantic

Liked: I love that it’s hidden away and very scenic while still being so close to so many things to do and see it nice enough to stay in relax and enjoy the peacefulness and scenery
