Was good location just needs...
Liked: Our room was a bit disorganised and we had multiple drafts wich is expected of an old hotel and the floor was clearly dirty

A little outdated. Okay for...
Liked: Clean towels, bedding, and nice sized bath..central location.
Disliked: The beds were not the most comfortable, the double bed base was old, worn and grubby looking. It wasn't clear breakfast was not included in the price.. apparently if you book with booking.com this is not included. I traveled with my two sons so this was very inconvenient. Requested an iron from reception, couldn't find one.

Would definitely stay again
Liked: The room was beautiful. The room was big with lovely furniture and plenty of storage space. 4 poster bed was super comfy. View was exceptional. Staff were really nice. Everything was very clean. The drinks in the hotel bar were reasonably priced.
Disliked: No plug for the bath

Disliked: Tv in room was broken, looked like the backlight was broken so only half the TV was visable, Could hear people in the room above us and across the hall from us

Warm Reception, Icy Sleep.
Liked: The hotel is gorgeous, in the perfect place for local amenities. This is what convinced us to stay in the first place, however, the building could use some maintenance. Drafty rooms, dust and cobwebs in almost all corners, ripped towels and previous guests toiletries. We travelled as two couples staying on the third floor, both rooms were freezing cold even after we blocked as many holes as we could with towels, even using them as draft excluders for the doors. Heaters are provided, however they barely make a dent when tackling the seeping frigid air that was determined to find its way into the rooms. We stayed one night and spent barely any time in the rooms, using them only for sleeping. On another note, the staff on reception and maintenance were lovely, they addressed an issue we had with our families other room (a maintenance hatch left open that led onto the roof from their rooms window alcove). They were a delight to speak with, approachable, friendly and understanding. Prices were a little steep for food (we all work in the hospitality industry, many of us in hotels) even by the standards we are used to in Glasgow City Centre, which led to us eating elsewhere. Bonus: Warm showers, plenty of toiletries provided (shampoo and soap) even if the water pressure was rather poor. We would stay again, only for the kindness of the staff and the convenience. However maybe bring extra layers and a spare blanket for the rooms, those drafts are no joke.

Pleasant
Liked: The hotel is in a good location, in town centre and only a short walk from the ferry. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. There is a lift in the property, only problem was I had to climb up a set of steps to access the reception. I was informed that there is a side door to gain access to the ground floor, but I would have to have phoned in advance to make the hotel aware of my arrival. I booked a single room which I found to be a bit cramped, but for the price I paid for the room I couldn't really complain too much

Disappointing
Liked: Room was not very nice with a sloping ceiling to the bed felt more like a prison cell
