Liked: staff were lovely, food was as expected ie good choice and well cooked. Room was a decent size, large enough to accomodate my mobility scooter!. Didn't try the Spa so can't comment.

Liked: The bed was very comfortable, the staff very accommodating, the spa absolutely fantastic. The building lovely and clean, refurbished since my last visit.
Disliked: The food. Extremely over priced!!!!! Not much on the restaurant menu and so over priced!!! Also the drinks. Very disappointing. Also as we required an accessible room on the ground floor we were charged an extra £60!!!! Speechless

Great weekend getaway spot

Liked: Fantastic large bathroom with walk in shower and spa bath. Good breakfast available in the morning. Only 15min walk into the centre of Appleby.
Disliked: Hotel was being kept very warm even though it was relatively mild for early November however there were fans in the room to help move the air around and cool the bedroom down.

Liked: Breakfast especially the very welcoming and attentive staff. Excellent room for the price I paid. Great location.
Disliked: Notifications after booking and paying: 1. that access to the spa/wellness suite was not included in the stay, (I would expect to pay for spa treatments, but simple access to gym, pool, etc., is usually included when they are part of a hotel); 2. a 5% service charge added to all prices, including room rate, at checkout, (not a lot, but such additions should be set out clearly at the point of reserving a room).
