Very good

Liked: Good selection for breakfast and plenty to eat.Room comfortable and clean
Disliked: Sauna wasn't working.Sorry the breakfast room has moved from top floor to ground level. Having stayed here a few times it is starting to need a refurbishment, just feeling a little tired.Prices for drinks in bar were a bit steep.

Liked: Right next to the castle and Grassmarket. Very good location. About 15 min walk from the Waverley station.
Disliked: A bit pricey for its indoor furniture.

Fabulous location and hotel

Liked: The location was incredible. The staff and being given an unexpected room upgrade was fantastic! The room was wonderful and being able to open the windows was a plus!
Disliked: Having to step into quite a high bath to have a shower.

Wouldn’t pay that price again...

Liked: Location good. Breakfast good. Didn’t eat dinner no atmosphere about it at all.
Disliked: Way too expensive for size of room. No hot water for first night and next morning. Not nice having cold shower.

Perfect weekend in Edinburgh

Liked: Absolute perfect location on Grassmarket with amazing views of the castle.I did lots of research before selecting the Apex on Grassmarket and this hotel did not disappoint.We chose the balcony rooms with a view of the castle and it did not let us down, the room was spacious and we loved the availability of fresh water in the corridor, you just take the jug from your room, far more sustainable that bottled water.Check in was seamless, the staff more than accommodating of your needs and each day housekeeping came in to replenish towels etc if required.
Disliked: Slight smell of drainage in the bathroom.
