Nice hotel in a quiet...

Liked: Lovely modern hotel. The room was spacious and clean. Friendly staff.
Disliked: Just be aware the hotel is in Grassmarket which is a 10-15 minute walk from most attractions and the shortest route involves a LOT of steps so not good if you have mobility issues

Castle view cosy stay

Liked: The view was just as I had hoped. The breakfast was good with lots of choices
Disliked: Not enough drawers for clothes! Maybe some more hooks for hanging clothes.

Overall, our stay was excellent...

Liked: The room was more than we could have hoped for, with facilities that we weren’t expecting yet were delighted to have! The bathrobes, hairdryer and hot chocolates being some of them! The castle view with a balcony was exquisite, and made my birthday weekend that bit more special! On that note, we couldn’t have picked a better location. Parking was relatively easy to locate.
Disliked: Not a dislike but there are two Apex hotels situated closely beside each other - just a heads up for anyone who might wander into the wrong hotel like we initially did!

Liked: It was spacious and well decorated. The facilities was very clean, the staff was very kind and the bed was very comfy !
Disliked: I was just a little surprised because there is no many power point in the room and the lack of power point in the bathroom.

Liked: - Located near more tourist spots- good breakfast buffet
Disliked: - dated rooms- located in a busy area so outside noise can be heard from the room. Hence, it doesn't allow for a restful sleep

Great location but hotel is...

Liked: Great location close to the Castle and popular attractions, comfortable large beds
Disliked: This hotel should NOT be advertised as a 4 star hotel, 3 stars would be the appropriate classification for it. We asked if we could get robes and slippers as that is a normal expectation of a “4 star” hotel and were told that there would be a £5 charge per item, which is absolutely ridiculous. To add to that, we had a 2 person room booked but were only provided with bathroom products for one person. Honestly it is embarrassing how lacklustre the overall design of the hotel is, there were bleach stains all over the carpet in the room and the general furnishings around the bar and restaurant area looked like they were in dire need of a refreshThe overall accessibility is also very poor. Lower your expectations for this hotel and you can avoid the disappointment we hadStaff was nice, can’t blame them for something that is clearly an upper management issue
