Wouldn't stay there again.
Liked: Close to venue.
Disliked: Very small room and had to run faucet in the tub for 20 minutes to get hot water; had to pay $30 to park overnight at hotel; room either too hot or too cold; bedding very light and flimsy.

Beautiful hotel. Wish front desk was more informational on how to use the elevator to get to your room. Also didn't say that the causeway to the Van Andel closes at a certain time. We got half way back after the concert to find out it was locked then had to walk all the way back and blocks to get to the hotel.
Liked: Room was very nice.
Disliked: No information on how to get to our room or even how to work the elevator. No sign was there telling us we had to wave our card in front of the reader. Then they held $100 on my card when room was split on my card and my friend's card and front desk never mentioned anything.

Liked: This hotel was absolutely beautiful and we had excellent service. All staff were polite and friendly, room service was great with quick delivery, and the concierge staff were very helpful with getting us a taxi to and from our concert. The beds were incredibly comfortable and our room had a nice view of the city. Hotel was also very clean.
Disliked: The only negative I would say is that possibly the walls are thin in the rooms. I was talking to my boyfriend while he was sitting on the bed across from me and the room next door knocked on our wall twice. I am assuming our talking was bothering them?

Paying for name brand, not...
Liked: Room was clean and had a nice view with plenty of space, the people where helpful and super nice! Beautiful lobbies and plenty to do with in the holtel and the couch and beds where comfy. Location: you are right next to the Devos place and easy access to over buildings, plenty of food and drink options both in and around the holtel.
Disliked: Room felt out of date with no safe, fridge, microwave and the lack of available outlets or a working plug for the bathtub for what we paid for. Example: a franchise holtel cost the same for 3 days vs 1 day here and got more in the room.Hidden fees: for arriving early you are charged extra unless you arrive at 4pm. Other services and items available are overpriced such as water or food offered by the holtel.Sound: no buffer between the outside noise or hallway noise.

Very special experience!
Liked: Breakfast was convenient, nice setting.
Disliked: Ordered a bagel, but there was no plain cream cheese. Husband had full breakfast and the eggs were from the liquid mix and very watery. Expected better from Wolfgang!

Superb
Liked: The view and linen
Disliked: Valet parking was a bust, plus I had a hard time in the elevator. Going up and down and not stopping at my floor.

Stunning property.
Liked: This is not an AI-written review. True to its name, the Amway Grand is an opulent, stunning hotel in the heart of Grand Rapids. Its architectural style is French classical and baroque, a remnant of the time it was The Paintlind Hotel until 1981. You see the gold leaf-lined ceiling in the lobby. The rooms are grand and exceptionally clean. The customer service is excellent. Valet parking was efficient. You have access to The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck, Rendezvous bar, Ruth's Steakhouse and a Starbucks all within the extensive hotel. They also have a beautiful gift shop and a boutique. They are also pet-friendly.
Disliked: Although pet-friendly, I would have preferred at least a small grass patch near the hotel's back entrance. the nearest patch is a 2-minute walk away in Rosa Park's circle, not ideal if you have an older dog.

We were very pleased
Liked: A lot going on at hotel and staff seemed very relaxed and took care of our check in very professionally
Disliked: All went well, did almost miss the parking garage sign, could be a little larger or made more clear to people who had never been there before
