Liked: Location great and staff were very friendly
Disliked: There was little ambience and Libby was rather sterile. Could use with some touch points and maybe a bit of soft music. Lighting in room so dim difficult to see. Bathroom was however great!

Disliked: The Amrath hotel has a 24/7 reception as common for a 4 star hotel. Unfortunately when I arrived very late at the hotel, the reservation system had already erased my (non-refundable) booking. The hotel clerk was not capable of providing a solution even though the hotel room was still available. The 'solution' that was provided was for me to wait till 7 AM as at that time the morning shift would arrive and they would be able to change the booking. To me that is a very remarkable form of hospitality. Further I had to pay the room again, even though the booking was still reserved on my credit card. For the first time in my life I had to pay in cash in a hotel. Strange. We went back and forth debating all the issues of providing a swifter solution, but the computer said no and that was it. Finally, after I insisted that this was unacceptable, the hotel manager was called, who was a friendly man eventually providing a solution. This whole episode lasted for more than 45 minutes and I was "allowed" to pay by card. This was a very weird experience for me and certainly to be avoided in the future.------------------------------------------------------Reaction per 2025-03-28Thank you for calling me to get further details. As discussed in our call, I arrived at 5 AM and there was both a reservation on my credit card which I showed on my phone to the receptionist. Also the booking was final so I had a full payment obligation. I had to pay twice for the room at night, but the following morning I asked the morning receptionist to cancel the second payment, which she did, so that was all cleared up by 11 AM the same day. Thank you for investigating the insistence of the night receptionist to pay cash.

Disliked: Reading light by the bed a bit weak. The front of the hotel from the outside is a bit shabby
