Do not recommend staying.

Liked: Location is great for getting to where you need within Maastricht, would not recommend staying.
Disliked: Unfortunately the hotel left a lot to desire in terms of cleaning, the facilities look very outdated, but my biggest disappointment was on my late arrival experience to stay on a Junior Suite, upon arrival, the glasses for the bottle of prosecco was dirty, not badly cleaned, but dirty, I was like, ok..., proceed to bathroom, poorly cleaned bathroom all around, calc everywhere, mold in every corner, painting in the ceiling peeling off, attempted to close the shower door and almost fell off, some weird spillage on the bathroom floor that was sticky, the bathroom glasses also dirty, the toilet had poop, on the seat, inside the bowl itself...take account this is a Junior Suite, makes me wonder the state the "regular type rooms" are presented, so I was offered to change to a different type of suite late in the night, in which the whirlpool I lost (I upgraded) but I could not stay in that condition that room was...while the receptionist showed me another room and we get into the toilet area...I am not even kidding, poop on the toilet again, in another Junior suite I'm supposed to move...she was just speechless and it got awkward because she did not knew what to say, I just said this will have to do, I could just not handle that anymore.

Liked: The location was TOP!
Disliked: We reserved a double room for 2 with breakfast included… 198.66€Parking 25€Late check out 20€And still we had to pay again for breakfast. Contacted Booking and never heard back… holiday.

Very good

Liked: The Staff were exceptional, the service was great from them, they will go above and beyond for the guests, the rooms are clean and well maintained
Disliked: The bar in the hotel, the manager is very abrupt and he has no decorum, We asked for a menu and he said he was fully booked, in the dining area yes, but in the bar area (which is all connected) there were plenty of available tables, but apparently you are not allowed to eat there, go figure, He said we could have room service, so again I asked for a menu and his reply was there is a room service menu in the room, A cheese toastie, burger and some other stuff, over priced and not fit for purpose, this was at 8pm not 3am in the morning, we had to go out in the freezing cold to eat somewhere else, this is the only thing that would stop me recommending this hotel to anyone

Very good

Liked: Grand old hotel lots of character.Tried booking an afternoon tea on our arrival, (12/12)was told to come back as kitchen not open to confirm. Went back each day, on one occasion we were told to check with the restaurant , who told us they were too busy.Subsequent visits to the reception desk still had no confirmation. another staff member was looking into it and asked us to come back after the Andre Rieu dinner, we did but she wasn't there and other staff did not know. When checking out there was a charge for the tea on our bill, we had no idea that it had finally been booked as no one had left a message for us.
Disliked: Good location, just across from rail and buses.Loved the Christmas decos, really added to the festive feeling.Hard beds , handgrip on bathtub in unsuitable place considering the height of the tub and older guests with mobility issues.Disappointed that smoking is allowed in restaurants especially as I suffer allergies and come from a food space smoke free country.

Great location but low value...

Liked: It was excellent for my desire, right across the Maastricht train station! The room was ok, clean bedsheets and bigger size room, facing the trainstation; the room was also equiped with a Nespresso machine so i could enjoy a coffee early in the morning, perfect for my needs before i went to work! It was quiet despite being in front of the trainstation (good isolation and thick dark curtains) so i could sleep very well. I had some issues with the invoicing (wrong address) but the lady from the reception decided to help me in the end, despite the fact that she was busy and initially wasn’t willing to make another duplicate. So much appreciated!
Disliked: On the first day, the bathroom was not properly cleaned, i could still see items in the trashcan and hair on the toilet seat. For a 4 star hotel with quite a high price for 3 nights, it could be better! The next days the cleaning service was better. I hope my review helps to improve the things.

Liked: They were friendly and welcoming .I really liked the old and antique Vibe
Disliked: I would have like that the 🍽️ were a little bit more cleaner . But I think may they had a hard day and it can happen to anybody.

Very good

Liked: Nice clean rooms, comfy beds, attentive staff even during the busiest of times and a plentiful buffet for breakfast.Would definitely stay again :)
