Liked: Breakfast was ok. I didn’t enjoy poached eggs made with vinegar to set them, learn to cook! Dining hall was empty, took 8 minutes for a waiter to arrive

Exceptional

Liked: Breakfast was second to none. 99% of staff amazing.
Disliked: The reception that I received from the Receptionist shortly after we arrived. I was trying to receive a very important telephone message from France on a Sunday just before the French Agence was about to close. They had tried x3 times. Because of the ? 5’ thick walls of the castle, it wasn’t working. I went to the reception area only to be confronted by the on duty Manager that she was already speaking to some people who were about to leave and I should wait. All I wanted her to reply to my quick question to her which I apologised to her at the time.. where is the best phone reception in the vicinity. It was really urgent. Thankfully a kind man could hear what was going on and quickly said the car park.. Brilliant. I’m not a pushy person and would never normally interrupt, it was just very urgent and could have been dealt with so quickly. At the end of our stay I apologised to the said ?manager and her response was oh I’m glad you have apologised. Not quite what I was expecting. Perhaps…?? …Yes, I’m sorry too about the incident but I do hope it all got sorted out.
