Pleasant quiet surroundings. Lovely room
Liked: A hidden gem in the forest just outside of Volcano National Park. Our one night stay in a charming and well equipped suite allowed us time to go back to the park at night which was a fascinating experience. We appreciated the oatmeal (microwave) and fresh fruit for breakfast. So many beautiful flowers on this property to photograph! Quiet and peaceful night in a great bed!

Exceeded expectations
Liked: The room and decor were immaculate. Really loved the Terrarium! The shower with two showerheads and stone floor was also very impressive.

Great location only a few...
Liked: Two-bedroom 'unit' (downstairs), with kitchenette and a spacious outdoor area, although it was too cold when we were there to really utilise this. Very spacious and the hot tub worked really well (definitely a highlight). The owners live on site behind the building and they were very pleasant. I saw bikes out front but not sure if these were free to use or you had to hire them as we didn't use them. Wifi was quick and there was even a microwave to heat food. Breakfast was okay, although limited options - porridge, 2-minute noodles, biscuits, nut bars and fruit. All utensils and bowls were cleaned every day, which was good as there's no sink in the kitchenette. There's a TV too and managed to log in to my Netflix so that was a bonus. About 7 min drive to Volcanoes National Park so very close, and about 2-3 mins to Volcano Village. Try the Thai Thai Bistro - amazing food. All in all we enjoyed our stay here.
Disliked: Not ideal if you are a light sleeper - or maybe ask for a top unit. The floors are wooden, and we could hear people walking around upstairs (especially early mornings) and also their shower sounded like a waterfall at times. Bring milk, as that isn't provided, or tea bags. Therre was a coffee and a coffee machine, but no filters, so you can't actually make a coffee unless you bring your own filters. It would have been nice to have a kettle. Bed was comfy but my pillows were so lumpy I had to borrow one from my Dad.

Good value close to volcano.
Liked: Good value close to volcano. The room was clean and comfortable.
Disliked: The breakfast food left in the room was acceptable, but I would have preferred better.

Passable
Liked: In terms of the location and the surroundings, this was a great accommodation that would have deserved a high rating.
Disliked: But unfortunately there was one minus point, which led to a significant decrease in the rating. In our apartment, room 3, there was only a fridge, microwave, coffee machine and some dishes and a few knives, forks and spoons - and after we asked, a kettle. IMO this is not a kitchenette - as stated in the apartment description. The reference to the sink in the bathroom as a sink also for washing up could be acceptable, but without providing any means for washing up, it is simply unsuitable. Well, we did our best to get the dishes sufficiently clean - and hope that our predecessors tried to do the same.Long story short: if the available "kitchenette" equipment is sufficient for your own purposes, this is a great place to stay - but only then.
