Excellent stay in Portland, ME....

Liked: I am not normally a fan of staying at chain hotels, but I have to admit in this case I was very pleasantly surprised! While this was clearly a corporate hotel, the front desk staff was actually really friendly, and the service across the board was great. I love how clean and efficient the rooms are.
Disliked: The only thing I didn't like is really just a small nitpick. I used the gym several times, and it's a great little gym, but the lights on in the gym turn off very quickly and it happens while you are exercising. They only turn back on if you go to the sensor at the front of the room, but if you are running on a treadmill or weightlifting, the sensor can't see you! How annoying!! Still, that didn't detract from my stay so I still give this place a 10/10.

Superb

Liked: Everything was great, clean and the location is near perfect, two blocks away from a cheap parking and right next to the Old Port.
Disliked: The price for the valet parking (40USD) is way too expensive especially since there is a 5USD/24h parking not far from the hotel. I was here in December, it is probably harder to find a parking spot in the summer but still overpriced.

Liked: Pretty much nothing.Met with the manager at checkout He listened to my written complaints, agreed with me about most, but said his hands were tied regarding any changes!Not good. I will never stay there again and,will not recommend ALOFT!
