Charming host, lovely hotel, good...

Liked: Lovely hotel, in a convenient location, good breakfast, run by a charming lady! We will stay again if we revisit Edinburgh.

Lovely host and house!

Liked: Excellent host, really friendly, helpful and informative. Lovely comfortable room. Great location, just one short bus to the centre. We had a great time.

Superb

Liked: The room was very comfortable, we had a lot of space, it was clean and tidy. There was a bus station right by the entrance which brought us to the city center in about ten minutes - very easy! They were all very friendly, breakfast was nice and we had plenty of recommendations for Edinburgh.

Edinburgh is a magical place...

Liked: Outside the busy inner city but easily reached by several busses or foot. Charming house with beautiful rooms. Breakfast plentiful to get you going and the hostess Cath is the kindest, most knowledge lady ever. She gave us a few good tips regarding restaurants and off the beaten path places.
Disliked: There is nothing to not like unless you require an elevator. This is an old house and does not provide one.

Wonderful stay, we felt at...

Liked: The location is perfect, located near a bus stop. The bus takes you directly to the centre of Edinburgh. The owner is very friendly and very accomodating. Also, we love the way the breakfast is arranged (you let your wishes know the day before), very sustainable with very little waste. Our room was spacious and felt very comfortable. Edinburgh is a lovely city. We will definitely come back!
Disliked: Nothing.

Disappointing stay

Liked: Parking, location very good for bus routes into Edinburgh, or if fit could be walked. Room comfortable, quiet, but room was at rear of property.
Disliked: Breakfast, we did not expect it to be continental breakfast only. Pastries cold and unappetising, toast served to table at time we selected, but if we came down after the selected time toast was cold. No option of a cooked breakfast, even at an extra charge.For a superior room at over 200 pound per night there was no water or tissues in room.All these thinks add up to a disappointing and not a good value stay

Liked: Everything was wonderful, a beautiful house, spacious rooms with a Scottish atmosphere. Good communication to city center. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Alba House Hotel was a...

Liked: Room was really comfortable, bed was excellent, bathroom immaculately clean. Breakfast was organized and nutritious, helping to start each day with energy.
Disliked: There really was nothing that I didn’t like. If anything, I would have appreciated a hook in the bathroom to hang my robe, but it was not critical. Every aspect of my stay there was wonderful.
