Excellent. Highly recommended.
Liked: We were very impressed with the inner and outer appearance; there were plants outside our 2nd floor room window!The room was spacious, very clean, and the beds were some of the most comfortable we have ever experienced. The heating was very quiet and consistent. The location is convenient to the university, downtown and almost any other part of the city. Both staff members (night and morning) were pleasant and competent.

Berkeley history fans will love...
Liked: At the time of our booking, this was a very new hotel and the interior decoration and the vibe were great. Our bed and the bedding was very comfortable. The bathroom was very functional and spacious. To our great surprise, we found the name of a very good friend on the Berkeley history themed wallpaper in our room! Where can I get that wallpaper? The valet parking worked very well for our purposes. We discovered the rooftop after our stay.
Disliked: Our room was facing University Ave and while I requested a quiet room when I reached the hotel, we were directed to #207 which was not quiet. We ended up closing windows facing University and using air conditioning as a result. It was also not clear where we were suppose to put our suitcases for an overnight stay without completely unpacking. I would suggest installing hinged benches for suitcases that can be folded up when not in use.
