Great boutique hotel in the...

Liked: This is an excellent hotel located within old city walls. It's definitely better than your normal 3-star place. Staff very professional and friendly. The hotel is next to number of nice restaurants. All in beautiful medieval town, next to a lake. Great stay.
Disliked: Nothing (regarding hotel).It needs to be said, though, that the Booking's offered option with breakfast included is something to avoid, I think. Breakfast is only served in close-by restaurants and hotel suggests to pay there directly. "Booking's breakfast" would be just a coffee and a croissant, typical French breakfast. Also I was sure I booked two rooms (one for 2 people) and the other for single occupation. It turned out I understandably had to pay extra (for the second person in room) as booking turned to be two rooms for 2 persons.

Disliked: There was very loud music coming from under our room until 3 AM. We could not sleep. This was the only issue, but sleep is important.

Liked: The location is outstanding. Right past the city gate and part of the street with all the half-timbered homes. Plenty of restaurants, bars, bakeries right at the doorstep. . The staff super friendly, the room was a good size, modern & hip. Slept very well, did not hear a thing.
Disliked: Can’t mention anything - loved it.

Historic hotel with modern designer...

Liked: This hotel is impressive for its heritage: first documented as a hotel in the 14C. But despite some intentional remnants in the building, the rooms have been modernized by a designer with excellent style and taste. No indication that the room was any older than a few years! We had a room with a small kitchen and courtyard view, but it was spacious and very quiet - couldn't even hear any noise from the restaurant right below. Murten is a charming medieval town that is worth stopping in for a night when the tourists are gone and the atmosphere is special.
