Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean room, comfortable bed, quiet hotel.
Disliked: Room did not have lotion on magnifying mirror that I could find, but not a big deal. Valet parking expensive.

A good hotel experience is...

Liked: Everything within the hotel was nice and clean with modern decor and amenities. Just no parking.
Disliked: Because there was no on-site parking, we had to park across the street in a parking garage where, unfortunately, our car was broken into, and some items were stolen. We parked before checking in, but since we are not from the area, we didn't know if that parking garage was a safe place to park. I wish the receptionist would have asked where we parked so that we could have been advised not to park where we did if they knew it was unsafe. Which I would have a hard time believing they wouldn't know. Especially after having done my own quick investigation after the fact. It's partly on me for not having done that first and partly on the hotel for not being more proactive about the parking situation, but it is definitely mostly on Portland & SmartPark for having poor safety & security policies around that area specifically. Long story short, don't park at the SmartPark @ 4th &Yamhill in downtown Portland. Or, at the very least, be aware that it is a hot spot for vehicle break-ins.
