Thoroughly enjoyable.

Liked: Very clean, near to the centre, lovely staff, great dinner.
Disliked: Breakfast didn’t have usual breakfast. They had cooked breakfast and cereals etc. but no weetabix which is unusual.

Great staff

Liked: The staff. By a long shot, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. I had a number of unfortunate events during my stay (my daughter needed medication, my phone was stolen the day before meaning all my maps and plans did not come with me, and the chrome cast in the room wouldn't work). In each instance, staff were incredibly kind, professional and creative in their problem solving (eg, reception were able to find a taxi and instruct them to get me to the last remaining open pharmacy in order to get some much needed medication, another member of the reception team gave us some great advice for things to see/visit). Shout out in particular to James who ran through every possibility to resolve a most annoying technical issue with my room software. You are a credit to your team.
Disliked: Ive learned that if you've stayed at an AC Marriott previously (and I did so in Dec in York), then the room's chrome cast will be difficult to untether from your phone from the previous stay, meaning it wont work and it will take days to figure out what the problem is. This isn't an uncommon issue, so management may want to be aware of what settings in a guests phone need to be changed in order to get the service to work.That said, I couldn't have asked for better service from the staff who worked with IT to resolve it (normally TV isn't such a concern, but when travelling with a young child, its absence is felt keenly at 8pm).

Liked: Love the location and the Style of the Hotel, the choices of food at the breakfast buffet was excellent, bar staff very friendly.
Disliked: The lightning in the room is very poor. Also this was a short break but if I was staying longer I don't think the clothing space would have been enough.

Disliked: Not sure why they hold on to deposit and never release it back when nothing has happened. I’ve called severally and on each occasion I get different answers. It is so ridiculous! I am yet to get the money paid into my bank account as I leave this review since January.

Disliked: Unfortunately there were black adult hairs in the shower at drainage filter at the top end of shower, quite disgusting and unacceptable!
