Please stay anywhere else.

Liked: Honestly, there were no positives.
Disliked: The staff here are curt at best, rude at worst. They wouldn't accept my active Irish visa for an ID, but they did accept my expired American driver's license? I went up to my room, past dilapidated murals of figures of Irish history, and was greeted with an unmade bed, with the duvet and pillow bare, and the sheets folded up together. The bathroom in my room is divided into two rooms, with one room with a shower, and another with the toilet, sink, and mirror. Frankly, I did not trust the shower. The other room was fine, but there was no countertop at all to put toiletries or makeup, and this was for an all-girls room. The beds are the cheap steel frames you'd find anywhere, with a sad, uncomfortable mattress, and not enough height for a 5'3"/162cm person to sit on the bed without hitting their head on the bunk above. When I tried to sleep, there were the odd, loud sounds of groaning machinery or plumbing every so often that woke me up every half hour or so.Additionally, this was the night that the rugby match between Ireland and France was happening, and I woke up multiple times between 5-6am to a large group of men yelling in my hallway. Why would a hostel in Temple Bar of all places not enforce some form of quiet hours? 5 o'clock in the morning is hardly the time to be allowing people to yell, when so many other people are asleep.I checked out as soon as I could once I felt rested enough. I had to unmake my bed while the other people in the room were asleep, and bring the sheets down myself to be washed, while my duvet and pillow were left behind to remain unwashed. The fact that the pillows and duvets are not washed as often as the rest of the bedding is absurd to me. I had to touch the bare pillow and duvet to put the bedding on them, who knows how many other people did so before I did? It's disgusting. After paying $100USD for the bed, I hoped that I would have been met with a semblance of hospitality, but I was mistaken.

Liked: I recently stayed at this hostel in the heart of Dublin, and the best thing about it is definitely the location. It’s within walking distance of major attractions, lively pubs, and public transport. As for the rest, the hostel is pretty average. The rooms are basic but clean, and the beds are comfortable enough for a short stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, but nothing particularly outstanding.Overall, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly place with an unbeatable location, this hostel is a solid choice. Just don’t expect anything too fancy!

Good

Disliked: After taking a shower in the morning, my bracelet was lost in the bathroom. The tenant in the same room said that only the cleaning staff went in to clean it, and no other guests went to the bathroom.
