Over- hyped expensive bed factory
Liked: Breakfast was fine - but expensive
Disliked: - separation door to adjoining room unlocked.- staff that could not answer ‘ wo ist der Lichtschalter?’ because they spoke no western European language- non existent/ functioning air extractor in the room toilet- attributed a parking for 3 days for 25€: day and not the announced 21€ ( as i had to find out afterwards)- elevator was not properly registering the floor asked : travelled up and down several times , twice- no gym ( i would never visit a sauna in such a bed factory)Generally felt not worth the 200€/ night , especially as clearly the beds are discounted for a mass of youngsters. A 75€ deposit may then feel justified for the hotel management - not for me who did not book a youth-hostel!

average, felt like youth hostel
Liked: location, nice design
Disliked: not very clean (hairs, crumbs, fingerprints, dusty) bedding that would not fully cover duvet, no one picked up phone for roomservice

in terms of genuine hospitality...
Liked: the building, the location
Disliked: The brutalist architecture of the building is truly exceptional, and the location—right between the Belgisches Viertel and the city center—is ideal. That said, the once-distinctive concept of eco-aware, design-focused hospitality feels somewhat outdated, blending into the very chains it once sought to stand apart from. The room is quite dark and, ironically, feels cluttered by a few added touches like a plant and various tchotchkes (although I did appreciate the Zürich soap!).If you plan on visiting the rooftop bar for a nightcap, be prepared to wait in line for about 20 minutes, especially on a Saturday night when it fills up with a suburban crowd. The breakfast area boasts fantastic 360° views of Cologne, but the food selection is fairly plain. It gets crowded, with too many people queuing for cappuccinos and a modest selection of cheeses. While the waitstaff are friendly and helpful, there are simply too few of them, making it challenging to order items from the menu.Sadly, in terms of genuine hospitality and the overall hotel experience, 25hours The Circle no longer feels distinct from a MotelOne.
