Good value for Vancouver, a...

Liked: It is an old fashioned motel built in 1946. It has been well maintained, but not "updated", so it is quite charming. The pictures in the lobby indicate it is used for movie and TV sets, including filming scenes for the Bates Motel, which I find hilarious. The place is clean, and the beds are comfortable. That's all I needed.

Contractor perspective

Liked: Motel has a colorful history connected with Hollywood North that is on display in the office. The location is centrally located and accessible to public transit. There's a laundromat down the road. I liked the self-sufficiency that comes with the kitchenette and private entrance. The staff were always very helpful. Parking close to the private entrance is nice. It's a little bit like a time capsule from the late sixties and early seventies.
Disliked: Self serve Laundry machines on site would be great. Some issues arise from the age of the building such as single pane wood frame windows that sometimes won't close easily to be locked, and inadequate electrical in the kitchen.

2400 Motel is a Scam...

Liked: The door handles are really hard to open, and they really should upgrade them from when it was first built. I thought i had a clean quiet room, and i believed I was having a pleasant experience until the day i checked out.I booked this room at a discount, then. upon check out i was charged for a small food stain that would have come out in the wash. Not only did the front desk person leave me standing at the front desk for 20 minutes, the owner was not a very clear communicator. I asked him what was happening and he sat in his office looking at me like he expected me to come back angry, and would not properly engage with me , he continued to sit in his little office, with the door open , staring outside and being really cold in his demeanour. I told him i was shocked by the fact i was being held up for a small stain on the top sheet, and he already knew why i was being held back, and when i confronted him about how he knew, when there was no phone call, he laughed and said that it was obvious that I had damaged the sheet. I again asked him how he knew that info, and he hadn't even seen nor spoke to the front desk person, and he started smirking and towering over me and glaring down at me in a very condescending way. I was outraged that I gone back to the room to see what was holding her up for 20 minutes, and she was helping the chambermaid remake the bed with the same sheets I slept in, and they were literally talking about how the stain would never some out and there was very weird looks being given to me. It was two small stains the size of my thumbnail and they were giving me a lot of weird and unpleasant looks. They continued to talk about how i destroyed the top sheet with these two small stains.The front desk person reluctantly returned to the front desk with me after i insisted we finish up the check out.I was charged $112 for a top sheet, that was never going to be cleaned and i was treated unfairly and with disrespect.
Disliked: they could have not charged me for something that wasn't an issue in the first place. They could have not been scam artists about the whole thing. They could have treated me with kindness and not with judgement. The front desk person who checked me in was wonderful and kind, and the two folks i dealt with in my check out were rude, condescending, not clear communicators and sketchy, super rude and judgemental,. and the owner is creepy
